Opalline

Hi folks!

I'm excited about this post as it's the first to feature beads from Bangkok! So after braving the scorching and sweltering and crawl-out-of-your-skin and douse-yourself-in-icecubes heat of Chatuchak, I found the section and lanes that sold beads! Row after row of semi-precious stones and crystals and beads. *___* Being the fine example of self-control that I am, I limited myself to a few choice purchases.

Here's the first, named opalline, as it features chinese crystal doughnuts in pretty opal shades.

I've not been able to find these shades here -- rose opal and lavender opal chinese crystal doughnuts, coupled with my favourite clover links and cutesy rose charms. Absolutely adoreee the cloudy opal shades of these crystals.
Item Code & Name: 383 Opalline
Price: RM8.00
Status: Available for remakes
Materials: Rose Opal / Lavender Opal Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Clover Links, Rose Charms

If you like these lovely frosted shades, order a remake of this or customise something with them.
All you gotta do is email me at

Now excuse me while I go stare at my beads for a while. :D Adieu!

Vintage Summer - Customised

Hellooooo!

I am back from Bangkok and have shopped up a storm and maaaaan do I miss it. :D Bought some beads too, which will soon be featured in this little blog of mine! But first - here's a little bracelet that Kelsey customised. It's based on this Summer Daze necklace.

Kelsey liked the flower and the pale yellow flower-print pearls, but wanted to replace the gold faux pearls with something a little lighter in colour, something a little more vintage. And thus, Vintage Summer was born:
Pale yellow flower print and pale green faux pearls form the chain of the bracelet, connected with vintage-looking ocean wave links, and an off-white flower cabochon danging from a flower filigree link.
Alas, I've run out of this off-white sunflower cabochon, so remakes will have to feature other flowers.
Item Code & Name: 380 Vintage Summer
Price: RM18.00
Status: [Sold], Available for different remake (the flower cabochon has to be substituted)
Materials: Pale Green and Pale Yellow Watercolour-Print Faux Pearls, Ocean Wave Link, Off-White Sunflower Cabochon, Flower-Shaped Filigree
Measurements: Approximately 17.5cm (including clasp)

 That's all for now. :)

Cupid Strikes

Hello!

Sorry I've been missing in action. I wanted to post yesterday, but was so tired I fell asleep at 9pm. (If that's not a sign of ageing, I don't know what is!). It's been a busy, tiring couple of workdays, so yay TGIF!

Before I go off and enjoy the start of my weekend, here's a pretty necklace customised by Melanie. She liked the circle links and arrow links from the Noir bracelet, and after a few revisions to it, we arrived at this design in sweet rosaline and lilac tones.
A slightly asymmetrical necklace with rosaline faux pearls and chinese crystal doughnuts accompanying circle and arrow links on each side, with a lilac rose cabochon pendant and twin dangling chains.

Named Cupid Strikes for the little arrow heart links and circle links (almost like Cupid's target). This is possibly one of Dainty Little Trinkets' sweetest creations. :)

Item Code & Name: 374 Cupid Strikes
Price: RM25.00
Status: [Sold], Not Available (unless you don't mind substituting the lilac rose cabochon with a different colour)
Materials: Rosaline Faux Pearls, Rosaline Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Circle Links, Arrow Heart Links, A Lilac Rose Cabochon on a Flower Filigree
Measurements: Approximately 44.5cm (including clasp), extender = 4cm

If you'd like to customise something, all you have to do is email me at daintylittletrinkets@gmail.com to discuss ideas!

Check out the customised section here.

Happy weekend, my dear readers! Go revel in it!

Summer Daze - Customised

Goodbye weekend and hello Monday.

If I had the means, I would spend my days lazing about some pristine, isolated beach, with only the sun and sand and sea to accompany me. Once upon a time, on one fine Australian summer day, I had just completed my thesis and essentially finished my degree, so life was good and carefree, and I did just that - 3 wonderful hours of Australian sun on the beach.

You could call it Summer Daze - that feeling of being so sun-kissed and warm that you're all mellow and warm and slightly dazed. (Of course, I subsequently got the world's worst sunburn and walked around looking like a lobster for a whole 2 weeks. But that's a grandma story from a bygone era.)

I've named this creation, another necklace customised for Melanie, Summer Daze, as the pale yellow flower-print and gold pearls remind me of a lazy, hazy summer day. :)
A chain of alternating faux pearls in shiny gold and pale yellow flower-print, interspersed with clover and flower links, with a pale off-white sunflower as a pendant.

The off-white sunflower cabochon is glued to a pretty flower filigree, giving the necklace a sweet and feminine touch.

Item Code & Name: 369 Summer Daze
Price: RM25.00
Status: [Sold], Available for remakes
Materials: Gold and Pale Yellow Watercolour-Print Faux Pearls, Clover Links, Flower Link, Off-White Sunflower Cabochon, Flower-Shaped Filigree
Measurements: Approximately 44cm (including clasp) + 4cm extender chain

This necklace is loosely-based on this bracelet and this bracelet. :)

You can customise stuff for yourself too! Check out the customised section here.

Lady of the Night - Customised

Short post coz I'm on half day leave for dental treatment and I need to get going soon. Root canal. :(

Some time back, I posted the My Fair Lady bracelet, consisting of a white dahlia cabochon and an array of white beads. This was later customised into a necklace for Felicia, as you can see here. Kelsey wanted something similar, but in a different colour scheme - more like the dark blue and silver shades found in this Sleek in Silver bracelet.

Voila!
The fair lady has now morphed into the Lady of the Night -
A royal blur dahlia on a square filigree, with an array of silver, dark silver and midnight blue faux pearls.
This colour combination is one of my absolute favourites. It's sleek and chic with a dash of colour.

Item Code & Name: 347 Lady of the Night (Customised)
Price: RM22.00
Status: [Sold], Available for Remakes
Materials: Silver, Dark Silver and Midnight Blue Faux Pearls, Royal Blue Dahlia, Square Filigree
Measurements: Approximately 53.5cm (including clasp), Extender = 4cm
If you'd like to order this, I'm just an email away!
If you like this colour combination like I do, check out some other accessories here!

I have a new flower cabochon to share - it's a water lily, in a sweet, striking vintage pink shade, incorporated into a bookmark for my friend Esther. Believe it or not, we've reached the last of the Christmas presents I've made. This one, I particularly like. It also features a new bookmark, with pretty flower motifs.
A silver bookmark with rosaline chinese crystal doughnuts, a clover link, a vintage-pink water lily on an intricate round filigree, and a peach chinese crystal teardrop.
Item Code & Name: 344 Nymphaea

Vintage Rose

One day to my holiday!
Excited I am.

I'll be on vacation from 10 Dec - 25 Dec, so replies may be few and far between.

Today's post features one of the favourite things that I have made myself. Keeping with this little blogshop's name - the earrings are dainty and simple, and I am a firm believer of beauty in simplicity. :)

Here's Vintage Rose -

Vintage pink rose cabochons on intricate antique-brass filigrees, followed by dusty pink faux pearls. I'm very much in love with the vintage look of this pair of earrings - the vintage pink shade of the roses blending in so well with the antique brass, and the dusty pink sheen of the faux pearls.

Item Code & Name: 323 Vintage Rose
Price: RM11.00
Status: Available for remakes
Materials: Vintage Pink Rose Cabochons, Antique Brass Flower Filigrees, Dusty Pink Faux Pearls

If you like antique brass trinkets, check out more here!

This pair of earrings can only be remade once, because I only have 1 set of vintage pink roses left! So email me to grab it if you like it! (Replies may be slow if I am travelling and without internet).

 Hasta la vista!

Fleur de Lune - Customised

Back to our regularly-scheduled posting, here's yet another pair of earrings customised by my friend and frequent feature Ai Li, who is currently frolicking in the snow in Korea. Jealous I am. No matter, my time shall come in less than 10 days! MOOHAHA. But first I have to get a ton of work out of the way. WOE.

Some time back, Ai Li saw this pair of earrings and fancied them. However, since she already has a pair of earrings with the cute little birdies, we changed it up a bit with these flower charms -

Fleur de Lune, which means moonflower, is a rather apt name, I think. Brings to mind the type of flower that only blooms in the mystical light of the moon (which the cobalt AB and metallic purple Czech preciosa crystals represent).
Item Code & Name: 318 Fleur de Lune
Price: RM10.00
Status: [Sold], Available for remakes
Materials: Cobalt AB & Metallic Purple Czech "Preciosa" Fire-Polished Glass Beads, Clover Links, Rose Charms

Grow in Faith - Customised

Bookmarks have become quite a regularly customised item at Dainty Little Trinkets. I can see why - it's a great gift for those who don't accessorise much, and everybody reads, right? (ok, almost everybody. :p). One of my friends who probably wins the award for most number of features on this blog - Ai Li- recently customised a bookmark for herself... one to accompany her through many a book, with many cups of coffee on lazy days.

This bookmark is actually based on another bookmark, customised for Angela's turning-21 friend - The Key to Spring. Here's a slightly modified version of it.
A soft lilac pearl, a soft pink flower cabochon on an intricate flower filigree, a deep purple round-faceted chinese crystal and a cross. This bookmark is smaller than the one from The Key to Spring - lighter, nimbler (and more affordable too!)
Item Code & Name: 313 Grow in Faith
Price: RM16.00
Status: [Sold], Available for different remake (I've run out of this particular flower cabochon - it can be replaced with a pink dahlia (seen here!))
Materials: Soft Lilac Faux Pearl, Purple Round-Faceted Chinese Crystal, Pink Flower Cabochon, Flower Filigree

Email me at the address below if you'd like to customise a bookmark for yourself or for your friends!

Friendly reminder that a SALE is going on yo!

Thank you and good night! :)

Jonquil - Customised

Thursday!

Just a day till the weekend - hang in there! I don't know about you, but there was a torrential downpour this evening, leading to a traffic jam of epic proportions. That said, I am thankful to be home and under a roof, listening to the gentle pitter-patter of the light drizzle outside.

The title of this post - Jonquil - is a word that I have only just recently learned. Oddly enough, I learned it while on one of my first few bead-shopping binges! Swarovski crystals have a variety of gorgeous colours, some of them very whimsically named (which I can super-identify with, haha). One such hue was Jonquil, and it was a beautiful yellow colour. I have since found out that it is also the name of the small fragrant yellow flower we know more commonly as daffodils! That's some horticultural knowledge for you. (My blog is totally educational, haha!)

Here's the last necklace that I customised for Felicia, named Jonquil for the lone yellow flower appearing in a sea of white:

A yellow dahlia (let's pretend it's a daffodil) on an intricate round filigree, followed by different white beads linked to each other - a round shell bead, ivory faux pearls, a white faux pearl with gold swirls, a white opal chinese crystal doughnut, and a square filigree.
I love the random appearance of the filigrees in this necklace. They're really quite intricate and beautiful.

Item Code & Name: 306 Jonquil
Price: RM30.00
Status: [Sold], Available for Remakes
Materials: Yellow Dahlia Cabochon on a Round Filigree, Square Filigree, Ivory Faux Pearls, Round Shell Bead, White Faux Pearl with Gold Swirls, White Opal Chinese Crystal Doughnut
Measurements: Approximately 72cm (including clasp)

Alrighty!

Other yellow items can be found here!

Tranquil Isles - Customised

Hi folks!

Today's post is the continuation of a series of necklaces that have been customised for Felicia, who likes all things asymmetrical and random. :) Today's necklace is quite unique, comprising different beads, crystals, flowers, and filigrees. The colour scheme for this necklace is blue, mint, and white, with inspiration coming from the Peaceful Waters bracelet from the Jars of Clay collection. Since this necklace was inspired by that bracelet, I have expanded on its name and named this creation Tranquil Isles.

Representing tranquility - silver filigrees, mint and off-white flower cabochons, a white shell teardrop bead, frosted blue and air blue opal chinese crystal doughnuts, shiny white faux pearls, an aquamarine glass bead, and a single aquamarine zigzag-patterned Lun Bawang.
A closeup of the eclectic mix of beads and links that comprise this opera-length necklace. There's something soothing about this colour scheme.

Item Code & Name: 305 Tranquil Isles
Price: RM38.00
Status: [Sold], Not Available
Materials: Aquamarine Zigzag Lun Bawang Bead, Air Blue Opal & Frosted Blue Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Aquamarine Glass Bead, Shiny White Faux Pearls, White Shell Teardrop Bead, Silver Filigrees, Off-White and Mint Dahlia Cabochons
Measurements: Approximately 72cm (including clasp)

I've run out of the off-white dahlias, so if you'd like a remake without the off-white dahlia, this is possible. :)

Hope you're having a tranquil evening / day / week, whenever it is that you're reading this.

I'll leave you with a song that to me epitomises tranquility - May It Be, from Enya
(with beautiful snapshots from the epic Lord of The Rings trilogy)

My Fair Lady - Customised

Happy Saturday!

It's been a while since I featured any necklaces on this site, so necklaces it is today! Well, one necklace in particular, in a series of necklaces that I customised for Felicia. Felicia is a necklace person - in one shot, she purchased 7 necklaces from me, 4 of which are customised! Over the next few posts, you will get to see them in all their glory (haha).

The first is a customisation of an existing trinket of mine - the My Fair Lady bracelet that I made for myself some time ago. Felicia liked this bracelet but wanted to make a necklace instead, so I expanded on the existing beads and here is the result:

Against a silver background for clearer depiction of the white beads and crystals. An off-white dahlia on a square filigree, followed by a sequence of ivory faux pearls, frosted white chinese crystal doughnuts, white faux pearls with gold swirls, and shiny white faux pearls.
White necklaces go quite well with dark tops, as you can see in the picture below - pair it with a boatneck top and you're good to go! This necklace is longer than my standard "princess" length necklaces that end somewhere below the clavicle. This is regarded as the "matinee" length. The things you learn when you delve into accessory-making!

Item Code & Name: 303 My Fair Lady
Price: RM22.00
Status: [Sold], Not Available
Materials: Ivory, Shiny White & White (with Gold Swirls) Faux Pearls, White Opal Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Off-White Dahlia, Square Filigree
Measurements: Approximately 54cm (including clasp), Extender = 4cm

Alas, I have run out of the off-white dahlia and it is not being restocked by my supplier. *sad*
If you like this design, I have dahlia cabochons in other colours and a selection of beads that I can try to customise to fit this design. I'm just an email away!

Enjoy your weekend now, ladies.

Cyan Blooms | Ombré Collection: Part 1

Fun fact:
Cyan is one of the colours in the colour model for many printers/photocopiers (CMYK: cyan, magenta, yellow, key (black)). Why do you need this information in your head? Knowledge is power, yo. Or something. :p

Part 1 of the Ombré Collection kicks off with a blue --> green gradient. This gradient is not as... gradual as some of the others in the collection, but I still think it's a pretty gradient anyway. (I claim artistic license! I can call it ombré if I want to! :p) It also has the added bonus of being asymmetrical.

A pair of bright and cheery earrings, where turquoise gradates into lime green and vice versa, through the cyan/teal tones of the little roses on silver flower filigrees.
Item Code & Name: 296 Cyan Blooms
Price: RM9.00
Status: Available
Materials: Shiny Turquoise / Lime Green Faux Pearls, Cyan/Teal Rose Cabochons, Flower Filigrees

Someone quickly purchase this before I decide to keep it for myself! :p

Should you wanna make this your own, just email me at

If you like flowers, check out more dainty trinkets with flowers here!
If you like asymmetry, check out some asymmetrical trinkets here!

That's it for tonight - here's wishing you a wonderful week ahead. I am looking forward to Wednesday - Deepavali!

Sunshine

Alas!

The shopping bug has bitten and I have been going on a half-crazed bead-shopping binge these past few days. I am now surrounded by a mass of my shiny new purchases and my eyes are gleaming with the sparkle reflected off of the beads and charms and I am slowly starting to transform into Smaug - he who hoards treasure and breathes fire at anyone who dares disturb him (I only wish I could be like him, haha).

Wow, that was a long monologue, but I guess this blog is basically one long, extended monologue from me, so I'm guessing you either skim over all my text and stare at pictures only, or you actually find my neurosis amusing. Heh.

ANYWAY.

Today's post is dedicated to Ren, who is a hardworking PhD student in the windy land of Wellington. She's always a ray (or multiple rays) of Sunshine, always a friend of the world and always ready for all sorts of fun and hijinks. Here's a little bookmark I made for her. (Ren if you're reading this, come back and claim it! Haha)
A flower-and-sunny-yellow-themed bookmark: yellow and white-striped faux pearls, a diamond link, a gorgeous yellow rose and a Never Give Up charm.
Item Code & Name: 285 Sunshine
Price: RM22.00
Status: [Sold], Not Available (I've run out of this yellow rose, but I have roses of other colours. Email me if you're interested!)
Materials: Shiny Yellow & Yellow/White-Striped Faux Pearls, Diamond Link, Yellow Polymer Clay Rose, Never Never Give Up Charm

Ren dear, continue being the sweet, sunny person that you are. Keep on keeping on with your research work - I have no doubt that you'll get there, one step at a time!

Check out other bookmark designs here! All totally customisable. :)

For any orders / enquiries, please email

Thank ye!
Time to go back to staring at my preciousssssssss treasures.
Toodles!

Madame Butterfly

Hello people!

Today's post features something I made for a friend, but because I haven't actually given this present to this friend yet, I'll have to be mildly cryptic. Once upon a time, my friend told me this joke:

Why did the man climb up a tower to throw butter out of the window?
To watch the butter fly!

Haha, what a ridiculously corny joke, but this friend of mine was tickled pink by it. She continues to be so amused that she can't say this joke without laughing her head off. We laugh because she laughs!

Long story short, I've always associated butterflies with her.
So here's a little handbag charm for Miss A. If you're reading this, let's meet up soon so I can give this to you! <3
A handbag charm with the alphabet A, a rosaline crystal, a vintage pink dahlia on an intricate flower filigree, a butterfly charm, and a Live. Laugh. Love. charm. Sweet and dainty, just like the one who'll be receiving this keepsake. :)
Item Code & Name: 274 Madame Butterfly
Price: RM19.00
Status: [Sold], Available for remakes
Materials: Rosaline Chinese Crystal Doughnut, Vintage Pink Dahlia Cabochon, Flower Filigree, Butterfly Charm, Alphabet Charm, Live Laugh Love Charm

This handbag charm draws inspiration from the items in the Words to Live By collection. Check that out here!
If you like handbag charms, there's more here!
Also, need I remind you that there's a clearance sale going on? :)

Happy birthday, A. May your life have lots of laughter and love in it, always.

Flower Power

Flower Power
 - a slogan in the 60s / 70s era of hippies, to symbolise passive resistance and non-violence in opposition to war. Many people in this movement dressed in colourful, psychedelic clothing, and wore flowers in their hair.

I reckon I could've been a hippie rocking the "flower power" look if I lived during that era. :p Violence is never the answer, yo.

Anyway, inspiration for the name of this pair of earrings came due to the abundance of flowers in this pair of earrings, which I randomly decided to make for myself:

Dainty little flower links that resemble stained glass paintings, with smoked topaz crystal doughnuts connected to gorgeously intricate flower filigrees.
I like the smoked topaz crystal doughnuts quite a bit! Such a unique colour.

Item Code & Name: 268 Flower Power
Price: RM8.00
Status: [Sold 2], Available for remakes
Materials: Smoked Topaz Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Flower Links, Flower Filigrees

Flowers, flowers everywhere!
If you like flowers, check out the "flowers" label for accessories featuring flower beads, flower charms, flower cabochons, clay flowers, FLOWERS!

Lil Shroom | Jars of Clay Collection: Part 7

Hello everyone.

First things first -- my deepest condolences to the families of those on the MH17 flight. My heart goes out to the Malaysian Airlines employees too - two flights in such a short span of time. I can't imagine how the families and friends must be feeling. Wherever you are, say a little prayer for them, yeah?

Today marks the last part of the Jars of Clay collection!

It's something quite simple, and to me, very cute. :3 Here's a handbag charm with a charm that may look pretty familiar -
Yup, you guessed it - this cute lil' shroom resembles the mushroom that we all know and love so well from Super Mario. Ah, I feel nostalgic just looking at it.
A clover link and flower link with a shiny red pearl in between, leading to the adorable mushroom charm.
Also available in made-to-order purple and pink options, below!

Item Code & Name: 266 Lil' Shroom
Price: RM12.00
Status:
1. Lil' Red Shroom - Not Available
2. Lil' Purple Shroom - Not Available
3. Lil' Pink Shroom - Made to Order
Materials: Shiny Red Faux Pearl, Clover Link, Flower Link, Mushroom Charm

The purple/pink shrooms will of course be accompanied by purple/pink pearls, not the red one. Unless you like it that way. :)

So to those who fancy a blast from the past, here's your chance to purchase something Mario related. :)

Just email me at

Also, do check out the clearance sale section!

Lastly, let's all be thankful for all that we've been blessed with. Love and appreciate the people around you, as life is as temporal as it is precious, and who knows what tomorrow may bring?

Have a happy blessed weekend, my friends.
