Garden Blossoms - Customised

Sometimes, my customers come up with the best ideas. :) When my well of ideas runs dry, they manage to dream up ideas that look much prettier than what I could've envisioned. :D Crowd-sourcing, yo!

Melanie, who is a necklace enthusiast, really liked the gorgeous magenta flower ceramic bead from this necklace. She wanted it combined with faux pearls, and after a few revisions, we incorporated the lovely Believe ring and this is the result!

Faux pearls in an almost-ombre sequence of sweet pink, dusty pink and maroon, and a ceramic bead with magenta blossoms dangling from a Believe ring.

The antique brass links and chain complement the pink/purple/red tones of this necklace.

Oh, Mondays.

Mondays aren't fun days.

But the worst is over and it's 4 more days till the weekend!

You know what else starts with the letter M? Mushrooms and Macarons! Way back when, I posted this Jars of Clay collection, featuring clay beads and charms. Among these beads and charms were the cutest mushroom and macaron charms ever. :)

 

Jaycee wanted to customise some handbag charms for herself and for her friends, and wanted to include both these charms. Here are the matching accessories. :)

For Ivy

This is a belated birthday shoutout to Ivy, who celebrated her birthday early this month. :)

Ivy is getting married soon as well, so this birthday gift was made for her with one of the most important events in her life (or more like a journey, since it is a neverending one, hehe) in mind. Love is a many splendoured thing, it is patient, it is kind... all you need is love, love is all you need (this is me quoting all the songs and bible verses that immediately come to mind). 

So this is a birthday gift to Ivy - wishing her lots of love, and joy, and adventures in this momentous year!

An asymmetrical necklace, because Ivy is a fan of the quirky and asymmetrical, with an adjustable Swarovski Heart pendant, adjusted by moving the chain up and down the Believe ring at the centre.

Isn't it amazing, the kinds of things humans can craft from clay? There is truly no limit to creativity (well, there's a limit to mine, but not some other creative souls). Aside from colourful clay jars and all sorts of beautiful decorative items, polymer clay has been used by all sorts of arty farty people to create gorgeous little charms and beads.

Spotlight - Inspired by Books and Movies

Hi hello from the land down under!

Why yes, my brother is graduating yet again, and I am in Melbourne yet again, like the awesomely supportive sister that I am. :) What this means is that I will be missing for a while from the Internet, and in my absence, I have scheduled a bunch of posts so you won't miss me too much. Heehee.

The first of these vacation posts will shine a spotlight on one of my pet-topics - the books and movies that I love! The three book/movie series that I love most have a lot in common - they are all epic stories of the struggle of good against evil, they are set in fantasy lands far away from reality, they feature flawed, believable protagonists that you love and root for and cry with, and all have spanned multiple books and movies and inspired legions of fans.

I'm talking about Harry Potter, the Hunger Games and the Lord of the Rings, of course. Such epic sagas of love, honour, courage and hope. I could go on for days, but I shall not bore you with all my rambling. Instead, I'll feature some pieces that have been inspired by these wonderful works of fiction.

Mockingjay | Bold & Brassy Collection: Part 3

Fellow citizens of PANEM...

Wrong post-apocalyptic country.

Also, pre-apocalypse, though let's face it - it's only a matter of time before the world implodes on all of us and we'll all have to battle it out Hunger Games-style. 

Wheeeee I am très excited about this post because it is an homage to one of my favourite book series, possibly second only to the awesomeness of Harry Potter. With the release of Mockingjay Part 1 just around the corner (next week, I can't hardly wait!!!), it is a timely time to be posting part 3 of the Bold & Brassy collection!

I've made some trinkets inspired by the Hunger Games series before, but this is the first time I have a charm that looks like it has come straight out of the movie series itself - the famous Mockingjay pin that Katniss wore in defiance of the Capitol, which later became one of the leading symbols of the resistance. Here's a bookmark I made with the Mockingjay charm:

Fuchsia Fusion | Ombré Collection: Part 4

Hello, my friends.

I hope the weekend has been treating you well!

We are nearing the end of the Ombré Collection. Hope you've been enjoying yourselves so far. Part 4 of this collection of pretty colour gradients is a bracelet - it's been far too long since this blog featured a bracelet. I've named this trinket Fuchsia Fusion because fuchsia is a vivid purple-red colour, named after a pretty genus of flowering plants, and because the word "fusion" implies that the colours are fusing with each other, which fits this collection's theme nicely. ❀

Jardin Secret - Customised

Those who grew up learning the piano in Malaysia in the 90's will be familiar with our friend Richard Clayderman - famous for playing beautiful pieces like Ballade pour Adeline, Marriage d'Amour, and the like. One of my favourites is Jardin Secret - a beautiful, mysterious piece befitting its name. Jardin is French for garden - a secret garden.

This piece, customised by Jo Jo for a friend, has elements of a secret garden set in France - in red, black and white.

 Opaque red and glittering black chinese crystal doughnuts, accompanied by white Lun Bawang clay beads with black swirls, a butterfly charm, an asymmetrical leaf charm, an Eiffel tower charm, and an initial of her friend.

 The pretty Lun Bawang clay beads have been featured in the Jars of Clay collection - check out more clay creations here.

Hello everyone!

Hope you're still enjoying the long weekend (or if you live in a part of the world where there's no public holiday today, then sorry! My utmost condolences. Ngehehehehehehemoohahahahahaha)

So, the last post was a bookmark for my bookish friend Ivy, and this, the 3rd post in a row about bookmarks, was also customised by her, for her all-important book-marking purposes. This one features my most favouritest polymer clay charm ever, the little 3D mushroom charm that reminds me of Super Mario and a bygone era of video games.

Eternal Flame

Happy Thursday - the weekend is near!

Today's post delves back into the land of the asymmetrical. It is also possibly one of my favourite creations ever, because of the simplicity of the design and the adjustable nature of the necklace. I think it's super cool. But then I think a lot of my creations are super cool. Haha, self praise = no praise, I know, I know. ◕‿◕✿

Onto the actual point of this post. First up - pictures!

 An infinity symbol linked to the other side of the necklace, ending with a flame-red Swarovski heart.

 Is this burning an eternal flame?

The special thing about this necklace is that the length of the necklace can be adjusted to suit your taste, simply by moving the infinity link up and down the chain from the other side. I shall illustrate with loads of gratuitous selfies of my own neck. I have more selfies of my neck than of my face. Heh.

 Exhibit A: Here's the regular length of the necklace. The infinity link falls a bit below the clavicle, with the Swarovski heart dangling down the sternum. (Gee, sure hope I haven't gotten my body parts wrong)

 Exhibit B: Not a fan of the plunging heart? Wear the necklace with the infinity link right next to the Swarovski heart.

 Exhibit C: My favourite. For dramatic effect, wear the necklace like a choker, with the Swarovski heart plunging down your... plunging neckline. 

In conclusion, I love this necklace! It's simple but it's fun and it's très chic to boot!
