Porcelain - Customised

Helloooo!

I'm going off on a mini-vacation from tomorrow till Sunday, so gotta rush! This will be a short post. :)

When Jaycee customised the mushroom and macaron handbag charms, she also wanted to put her own spin to this Porcelain bracelet. Here's the customised version:
Off-white clay beads handpainted with swirls and zigzag patterns, in porcelain blue and jet black ink, and a reminder to be courageous and have hope.
Gotta love the painstakingly hand-painted swirls and zigzag patterns in these Lun Bawang beads.

Item Code & Name: 378 Porcelain (Customised)
Price: RM30.00
Status: [Sold], Not Available
Materials: Blue Swirl, Black Swirl and Blue Zigzag Lun Bawang Beads, Clear Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Courage Bead, Heart Bead, Toggle Clasp

I've run out of the Black Swirl beads, but if you wish for a remake without those beads, we can work something out.

I'm travelling, so responses may not be as frequent, yeah? :)
That's all for now, be back early next week!

Spotlight - Asymmetry

- zis is a scheduled post as yours truly is still on holiday -

Now you must be wondering - why the blazes is there a picture of some lady with a cool hairstyle on a site that is supposed to be about handmade trinkets? To be fair, if you are the sort to pay attention to titles, you would've rightly deduced that this post is about asymmetry and the reason why that picture is here is because of her gorgeously stylish asymmetrical hairstyle.

I am in general a fan of logic and order and symmetry, though the occasional asymmetry does spice things up a little. So here is my little ode to asymmetry, as you can see in the pictures below.

Daenerys & Drogo (RM8) - but currently on sale!

 Cyan Blooms (RM9)

Nebula (RM34)

So if you like asymmetrical things, check out the asymmetrical tag for more goodies!

(replies may be slow as I am in the land down under)

 G'night!

Estella - Customised

Still on vacation!

As you are reading this, I am probably walking along the crater of a long-dormant volcano in Mount Gambier. Cool, huh? Super cool! One of the key tourist attractions of the Mount is the Blue Lake, which is this gorgeous, brilliant blue.

Which brings me to the point of this vacation post.

Way back when, I posted this black lace bracelet, accompanied by the Silver Night Swarovski Heart - a classy, stunning affair. Here's something customised for Loretta - the same black lace, with a change in Swarovski Heart - a striking Bermuda Blue.
A black lace band, followed by a jet black chinese crystal doughnut and the most beautiful of all Swarovski hearts (in my humble opinion).

Item Code & Name: 221 Estella (Customised - Bermuda Blue)
Price: RM18.00
Status: [Sold], Available for remakes
Materials: Black Lace, Jet-Black Chinese Crystal Doughnut, Bermuda Blue AB Swarovski Heart
Measurements: Approximately 16cm (including clasp) (Remakes can be adjusted to the customer's wrist length)

Click on this link to see more pictures of the original bracelet!
If you'd like Swarovski hearts of a different colour, just email me to find out more!

Since I'm on vacation, my replies may come late yeah.

Thank you and good night!

Sail Away - Customised

Hi hello friends!

On Tuesday, I featured this pair of earrings customised for my friend Ai Li. Today, I'm featuring two other items customised by Ai Li, because she is an avid supporter of my business and an all-round awesome person!

Ai Li is a sailor and thus has many sailor friends! Here are two bookmarks she customised for her sailor friends - one in sweet pastel shades, one in sleek dark shades, perhaps indicative of their preferences and their personalities. :)
On the left, a sleek silver-and-black bookmark. On the right, a sweet pink-and-purple bookmark. Both featuring an adorable sailboat charm, to accompany you as you sail through the different universes and fantasies that your books create.
A soft lilac faux pearl followed by a rosaline crystal encased within a round double-twisted ring, a dark purple round-faceted chinese crystal, and a sailboat charm.

Item Code & Name: 319 Sail Away (Pastel)
Price: RM14.00
Status: [Sold], Available for remakes
Materials: Soft Lilac Faux Pearl, Rosaline Chinese Crystal Doughnut, Dark Purple Round-Faceted Chinese Crystal, Round Double-Twisted Ring, Sailboat Charm
A dark silver faux pearl followed by a silver-black crystal encased within a round double-twisted ring, a jet black round-faceted chinese crystal, and a sailboat charm.

Item Code & Name: 320 Sail Away (Dark)
Price: RM14.00
Status: [Sold], Available for remakes
Materials: Dark Silver Faux Pearl, Silver-Black Chinese Crystal Doughnut, Jet Black Round-Faceted Chinese Crystal, Round Double-Twisted Ring, Sailboat Charm

So whether you prefer to be sweet and demure, or sleek and cool, there are different colour schemes for you! This bookmark is smaller than the other engraved/patterned bookmarks that I have featured, hence the lower prices! :)

If you'd like to customise something for yourself or your friends, I'm just an email away!

If you like all sorts of sailor-related marine-themed sea-loving creations, check out some more stuff here, here, here and here!

Please note that I'll be going on vacation soon yeah, so you'll have to order fast in order to get your stuff before Christmas! Read more here ♥

For Karuna

Happy Saturday, my dear blog readers!

I'll keep this post short as it's a busy day ahead. :)

Here's a long overdue post about a tiny birthday gift I made for Karuna. Funny story - I had actually made this pair of earrings for her much earlier, in shades of maroon and black. Then sometime after (before her birthday), she purchased some earrings from me in the exact same shade of maroon! So I thought it would be better to change it up slightly to a shade that she doesn't have yet (at least not from her collection of earrings made by me). Heehee.
Dark silver faux pearls, clover links, jet black helix crystals and dainty butterfly links.
Item Code & Name: 314 Papillon
Price: RM8.00
Status: Available for remakes
Materials: Dark Silver Faux Pearls, Jet Black Helix Crystals, Clover Links, Butterfly Links

If you like earrings, check out more here!

Nebula - Customised

Continuing in a series of posts for the necklaces that I've customised for Felicia, this one is my favourite of the lot.

Now, those who know me (or those who've read my ramblings enough to know an approximation of me) will know that I have rather simple, uniform taste. The trinkets I design are rarely out of the box - the designs are tried and true, usually symmetrical, and even if asymmetrical, usually only to a certain degree. So when a customer comes along and challenges that need for order, it is both an exciting and nerve-wracking experience. Such was my experience with Felicia, who throughout the course of customisation had to gently ask me to "be random". Hahaha!

I can certainly be random with my ramblings... not so much with my accessories! So this has been a good challenge out of my comfort zone. :)

Here is Nebula, named for the interstellar inspiration for this necklace, with the random beads and links reminding me of a galaxy of weird and wonderful constellations. What am I talking bout? I'll let the pictures do the talking!

The double-chain returns, with random links and beads of white, black and silver connected to each other like different planets and constellations in a vast galaxy.
Pictured here are some of the beads and links - a diagonal celtic square bead, white and black pearls with gold swirls connected to a square filigree, a jet black helix crystal, a white-striped round acrylic bead, and a diamond link.

Item Code & Name: 304 Nebula (Customised)
Price: RM34.00
Status: [Sold], Available for Remakes
Materials: White Shell Beads, White and Black Faux Pearls with Gold Swirls, White-Striped Round Acrylic Bead, Jet Black Helix Crystal, Square Filigree Link, Celtic Heart Bead, Chinese Knot Link, Diamond Link
Measurements: Inner Chain = Approximately 63.5cm (including clasp), Outer Chain = Approximately 72cm (including clasp)

Hope you like the randomness of this creation!
If you like double-chained trinkets, check out more here
If you like asymmetrical, random stuff, check out more here
If you like this and would like to order a remake, email me at
daintylittletrinkets@gmail.com

BTW, can't wait for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar movie. Also, this serves as a shoutout to Karen Gillan's chilling portrayal of Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Good night, and have a great week ahead, everyone.

Dark Vines

Hello ladies
(and occasional passerby-gentlemen)

The time now is 11.30pm so I shall keep this post short and sweet. :)

A lot of the trinkets on this humble little blogshop are made with faux pearls and chinese crystals, but it's nice to throw in the occasional natural stone / organic bead. :D Chrysocolla is a copper stone that ranges in colour from blues to greens. The chrysocolla beads that I have are dark green, with flecks of black and the occasional blue. They have featured in some of my accessories before - Tree of Gondor and Little Birds.

Naturally, I had to make something for myself featuring these naturally-occurring mineral stones.

Dark Vines - dark green chrysocolla beads, jet black helix crystals, and silver beads with tree branch engravings.
Item Code & Name: 295 Dark Vines
Price: RM11.00
Status: Available for remakes
Materials: Dark Green Chrysocolla Beads, Black Helix Crystals, Silver Beads with Tree Branch Engravings

All orders or enquiries can be made at daintylittletrinkets@gmail.com :)

With that, I shall bid you adieu.

Jardin Secret - Customised

Those who grew up learning the piano in Malaysia in the 90's will be familiar with our friend Richard Clayderman - famous for playing beautiful pieces like Ballade pour Adeline, Marriage d'Amour, and the like. One of my favourites is Jardin Secret - a beautiful, mysterious piece befitting its name. Jardin is French for garden - a secret garden.

This piece, customised by Jo Jo for a friend, has elements of a secret garden set in France - in red, black and white.
Opaque red and glittering black chinese crystal doughnuts, accompanied by white Lun Bawang clay beads with black swirls, a butterfly charm, an asymmetrical leaf charm, an Eiffel tower charm, and an initial of her friend.
The pretty Lun Bawang clay beads have been featured in the Jars of Clay collection - check out more clay creations here.
Item Code & Name: 291 Jardin Secret (Customised)
Price: RM24.00
Status: [Sold 2], Available for different remakes (I've run out of the black swirl Lun Bawang beads, so this can be remade with those beads replaced)
Materials:  Black Swirl Lun Bawang Beads, Opaque Red and Jet Black Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Butterfly Charm, Eiffel Tower Charm, Asymmetrical Leaf Charm, Alphabet Charm
Measurements: Approximately 17cm (including clasp) + 2.5cm extender chain

If you have an idea that you'd like to make a reality, just email me!
You can check out the customised section to look at some stuff that my previous customers have personalised and made their own.

I shall now leave you with this beautiful, mysterious piano piece:

Bonne nuit.

Eternal Flame - Customised

Close your eyes
Give me your hand darling
Do you feel my heart beating
Do you understand
Do you feel the same
Am I only dreaming

Or is this burning an eternal flame?

Ah, one of the most jiwang songs of all time. :D I love the 80's.

So, a little while ago, I featured this Eternal Flame necklace with an infinity symbol and a flaming red Swarovski Heart that could be adjusted at different lengths - a design both simple yet unique. My long-time customer and fellow trinket enthusiast Kelsey loved it too, and asked to customise two versions of this necklace, with different Swarovski hearts, as you can see below:

Stunning Swarovski hearts in Silver Night and Bermuda Blue AB shades, looped through the timeless infinity link.

As mentioned, the necklace can be adjusted to different lengths to suit your preference. Wear it at an average length (as above) or wear it dramatically (as below), with the heart plunging down together with your plunging neckline. :p

Item Code & Name: 290 Eternal Flame
Price: RM19.00
Status: [Sold - 2 Bermuda Blue, 1 Silver Night], Available for remakes
Materials: Infinity Link, Swarovski Heart
Measurements: Approximately 43cm (including clasp), drop = 4.5cm (length adjustable to whatever you want it to be!)

Email me at daintylittletrinkets@gmail.com if you would like to order!
(when ordering, please specify which Swarovski Heart you would like!)
Check out other previous asymmetrical creations here!

That's all for now, folks.

*Goes off and belts out Eternal Flame in the shower. Loudly. Complete with melodramatic hand gestures*

For Lin

Hola amigos!

It is the end of September and the crazy-busy period in my workplace has settled a little (still crazy, but more manageable) so the hiatus shall end here and posting will resume effective today! Yay!

Have you missed me? Haha. I've definitely missed this little corner of the Internet where I can unleash my random musings and nonsensical ramblings. It's good to be back!

Today. 30 September, also happens to be the birthday of my friend and colleague Lin. :) ♥
I made her this long neckace that she can wear over her tudung or under her tudung, however she fancies!
A long necklace peppered with flower filigrees, flower links, circle links, silver-black chinese crystal doughnuts and black faux pearls with gold / silver swirls. Gaya. Mutu. Keunggulan. :p
A close up of the various links and crystals and beads in this necklace. My favourite would be intricate flower filigree. J'adore.

This shot ain't the nicest, but it's just to give you an idea of the necklace length! Here it looks super symmetrical - wear it asymmetrically for some flair~!

Item Code & Name: 293 Nocturne
Price: RM37.00
Status: Available for remakes
Materials: Black Faux Pearls with Gold / Silver Swirls, Silver-Black Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Flower Filigrees, Flower Links, Circle Links
Measurements: Approximately 115cm

At 115cm, this is the longest necklace I have ever made! :)
Check out some previous long necklaces here and here.

If you'd like a remake, just email me at daintylittletrinkets@gmail.com

Lin Lin, hope you had a wonderful birthday holiday and an amazing birthday today with your lovely family! See you at work tomorrow (haha!) :D

Preciosa

Those who are familiar with my blog will know that I absolutely adore Czech Fire-Polished "Preciosa" Glass Beads. Those who have the patience to read my ramblings will also know that I am fond of the colour black and that my wardrobe consists of a lot of black.

As one of the birthday presents to myself (I've been giving myself lots of presents, narcissist that I am), I made a bracelet out of Preciosa glass beads, in shades of black, silver and gray. All the better to match all your clothing with. In fact, I just wore the bracelet today. :D Here it is~
Dark Gray, Montana AB and Metallic Gray Czech Preciosa beads, with two dainty celtic heart beads thrown into the mix,
My favourite bead would be the Montana AB ones (in between the Dark Gray and Metallic Gray beads) because of the lovely blueish-silver shine that is reflected on certain facets of the bead.
Item Code & Name: 283 Preciosa
Price: RM20.00
Status: Available for remakes
Materials: Dark Gray / Montana AB / Metallic Gray Czech "Preciosa" Fire-Polished Glass Beads, Celtic Heart Beads, Toggle Clasp
Measurements: Approximately 15cm (including clasp)

I've been told that my wrists are freakishly small, so this bracelet can be lengthened to 17cm (the addition of two celtic heart beads) at no extra charge. :) Just email me at daintylittletrinkets@gmail.com to discuss things further!

If you love the look of these Preciosa beads and would like to see more creations featuring them, check out this link! :)

'Twas a tiring Tuesday for me, so I shall now retire to bed.

Good night
Sleep tight
Don't let the bed bugs bite!

Black & Gold | La Perla Collection: Part 4

Short post because Saturdays are meant to be enjoyed outdoors!

So you may have noticed that the La Perla collection contains faux pearls in the more unconventional colour combinations -- midnight blue and burgundy, rosaline with baby blue, shiny rainbow shades. This bracelet aims for style and class - shades of Black & Gold. Gaya. Mutu. Keunggulan. :p
Soft gold faux pearls interspersed with black faux pearls with gold swirls on them, with a round double twisted ring at the centre.
Encased within the round double twisted ring is a smaller black pearl, this one with gold and silver swirls.
Item Code & Name: 279 Black & Gold
Price: RM15.00
Status: [Sold], Available for remakes
Materials: Black Faux Pearls with Gold Swirls, Soft Gold Faux Pearls, Round Double Twisted Ring, Toggle Clasp

Purple Storm | Jars of Clay Collection: Part 4

Testing out this phone blogging thing. It is indeed much harder than blogging from a computer. Formatting is tough, so I'll switch to the computer later and add some photos!

Not that that was information that was relevant to any of you. :p

Part 4 of the Jars of Clay collection marks the end of the first section of this collection - accessories featuring Lun Bawang beads! Next week you'll see a bunch of accessories that are vastly different from these classy and elegant ones. :D I'm excited for those too! But for now - after the calm, Peaceful Waters before the storm - here is a Purple Storm.
Off-white Lun Bawang beads painted with dark purple and black swirls, deep purple and jet black chinese crystal doughnuts, and lattice links.
Accompanying the purple-swirl Lun Bawang bead are tiny metallic silver chinese crystal doughnuts.

Item Code & Name: 263 Purple Storm

Porcelain | Jars of Clay Collection: Part 1

Hi hello!

I'll try to keep today's post short because I have to sleep early because I have to get up at 4am to watch the Brazil vs Germany match and I would like to not be a zombie at work tomorrow. Haha. How's that for a run on sentence!

The first part of the Jars of Clay collection features clay beads from the Lun Bawang, part of the Orang Ulu of Sarawak. They have long been producing various handicrafts as a supplement to their income from agricultural work, and I chanced upon their booth during a handicraft market at Tropicana City Mall some time back. Naturally, I spent quite a bit of time poring over hundreds of pretty and so painstakingly handcrafted ceramic beads made using local river clay, and ended up buying lots!

Here's Porcelain, named for the clay bead's resemblance to the porcelain wares of olden days, for that specific, always recognisable cobalt "china" blue.
Off-white clay beads handpainted with swirls and zigzag patterns, in porcelain blue and jet black ink.
As each bead is painstakingly hand-moulded then carefully hand-painted, no one bead is identical. Of course the same patterns and rough sizes are there, but each bead is unique, thus making this bracelet all the more special. :)

Item Code & Name: 260 Porcelain
Price: RM20.00
Status: [Sold], Not Available
Materials: Blue Swirl, Black Swirl and Blue Zigzag Lun Bawang Beads, Clear Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Toggle Clasp
Measurements: Approximately 18cm (including clasp)

This is my favourite creation from this collection, and I hope you like it too!
If you like the beads but would like to make something different for yourself, you can always email me to customise it!

Painted Black

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won

The above are lyrics from one of the most beautiful and understated love songs I've ever listened to. Slow, bittersweet and wistful, the lyrics and melody come together in a lovely and heartrending masterpiece. Go listen to Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard and Marketa Iglova (the Kris Allen version is also excellent).

Here is a simple, understated bracelet that I hope reflects the song.
Flower links, jet black chinese crystal doughnuts, a Love link, accompanied by the stunning Silver Night Swarovski heart.
The Silver Night Swarovski heart has an AB finish - reflecting different hues of silver and black at different angles.
Item Code & Name: 259 Painted Black
Price: RM19.00
Status: Available
Materials: Jet-Black Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Flower Links, Love Link, Silver Night Swarovski Heart, Toggle Clasp
Measurements: Approximately 16.5cm (including clasp)

If you're new to this blog, note that all bracelets are customisable and can be adjusted to the customer's wrist length!

If you like the Silver Night Swarovski heart, check out another creation here!
For those who like dark accessories, check out the "black" label.

- this is where I use this blog to talk about football -
Haha, I watched both the 12am and 4am games last night (this morning). A little sleep-deprived zombiefied. Such good matches (good job Germany and Brazil!), but poor Neymar and his vertebrae injury. It must be crushing to have to sit at the sidelines and not be able to take his team to victory. I've been rooting for Germany and Brazil thus far... torn about who I should support in the semi finals. For tonight, go Argentina and go Netherlands!

Okay I'm done, and shall leave you with the beautiful song that this piece has been inspired by:

Take this sinkin' boat
And point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice
You have the choice
You've made it now
