A little while back, April, who previously customised this Anchor of Hope bracelet for herself emailed me about customising something similar but slightly different for a friend of hers. The first part is self-explanatory, and the word "abundance" brings to mind "richness" - but in this case, I am not referring to monetary riches, but an abundant life - the kind of life we hope our friends and family are blessed with.

Tonight I had a very scrumptious dinner of chili pan mee. I am feeling uber satisfied and content. All is well with the world when your tastebuds have been appeased and your belly is full.
Speaking of Contentment, a very nice customer by the name of Charles ordered a customised version of this Contentment bracelet from the Personalised Statement Bracelets collection, for my friend Mel's mummy. While the original bracelet was in sleek shades of dark purple and dark silver, Mel's mum has a preference for lighter colours, so here it is in soft pastel shades:

The Personalised Statement Bracelets collection has been one of the most popular collections -- I guess because of the different statements that appeal to different individuals and the highly customisable nature of these bracelets. :)
I received a facebook message (shamless self promotion: please like the page here!) from Fharylynna some time ago. She wanted to customise a bracelet with a cross and a ballerina (from this I am making the assumption that she is a Christian and a ballet dancer, hehe). After browsing through some designs and selecting a few additional beads and links - here is her bracelet, customised in the vein of the previously-posted I Hope You Dance bracelet, in a completely different colour scheme:
Formerly in the tones of sweet rosaline and clear crystal, this bracelet has been customised to include a medley of midnight blue and dark silver pearls and jet black chinese crystal doughnuts. Completing the bracelet are a butterfly link, a courage bead, a ballerina charm, and a cross hanging from a clover link -- perhaps traits that define the owner of this bracelet.
An alternate view. I think this colour combination might be my favourite - can't go wrong with shades of midnight blue and dark silver and jet black. So very classy and elegant - you know, gaya, mutu, keunggulan. ;p

With another collection completed, I thought it was time to feature some of the customised designs that my lovely customers have ordered over the past few months. I love it when I get emails about customisation, because it means that
customers are taking a unique interest in creating something that is
truly representative of them or the person they are giving it to! :)
Following the Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection that I published in July, there have been a couple of requests for customisation. Here is a bracelet customised for April, who liked the Anchor of Hope design but has tiny wrists like me, and so requested for it to be shorter while also incorporating some links and charms of her own choice.
Staying true to the original purple and black colour scheme, this customised bracelet incorporates a Chinese knot link symbolising the bond of friendship and family, and a Love charm to represent the underlying foundation of these relationships.
I actually really like this customised bracelet. It is less symmetrical than the original and the asymmetry istrès refreshing and unique. Trust my customers to have brighter ideas than my own! :D

This next bracelet, last in the Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection, is for Drew, Blair's youngest daughter, and a dancer. As someone with two left feet and no flair for dancing, I've always admired those who dance for a living. It's such a lovely form of self-expression, beautiful to behold and very inspirational.

Brooke works in the scary world of sales, and I always think that the sales profession requires a spunky personality and a sense of adventure. What better way to illustrate that than with a little sailboat charm, navigating its way around stormy seas, with nothing but heart and a little courage on its side?
Crystals and pearls in lovely shades of blue, linked together with ocean wave links to represent a stormy sea. On the chain - a lone sailboat, a little bit of heart, a little bit of courage.
It was only after I made the bracelet that I found out that Brooke also enjoys sailing - how fitting and perfect! :) I particularly love the Aquamarine Swarovski Heart and the Ocean Wave Links on this piece.

On Tuesday, I introduced a series of bracelets that I made for a mum and her trio of daughters, with the mum's bracelet (Inspiration) here.
This next one is for Morgan, the eldest daughter, who is a housewife and has a family of her own. Housewives are often the ones who tie the family together, hold everything in place and keep each family member grounded. An anchor, if you will. A source of hope, definitely. So this is for all the housewives out there and a dedication to the Anchor of Hope in your life.

The next 4 bracelets in the Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection are quite special, as they were custom-made for a mother and her three daughters - the mum is in her late 40s, the eldest daughter in her early 30s, the second in her late 20s and the youngest in her late teens. Every decade represented. How cute is that?
Each daughter has a "statement" bead/charm for their unique experiences and lives - hope, courage and inspire - while the mother's bracelet incorporates all three - as often, our mothers are our source of inspiration and all things wonderful. (Let me take this moment for a shoutout to mummy, who is my favourite person in the whole wide world. I love you! ❤)

This bracelet, second in the Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection, is for Sheila, whose 8 and 5 year old daughters were given the Sweet Hearts and Candy Crush bracelets. The two little rainbow-coloured trinkets have the charms "Love" and "Joy" on them, and since these little girls are a major source of love and joy in Sheila's life, I incorporated them into her bracelet's design.
Shades of deep purple and dark silver linked together with intricate butterfly and flower links, and the addition of Love and Joy charms for that little bit of flair.

Following from yesterday's Intro post, here we have the first customised bracelet in the Personalised Statement Bracelets collection! This bracelet has been customised for Elaine, who is a Christian by faith, and loves the colour red.
There is a verse in the Bible that goes:
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)
The following bracelet aims to reflect these words - of how essential it is to have faith, have hope, and have love as we live out all the days of our lives.
Faith is represented by the little sparrow - as God cares for even the little sparrow, and so much more for you and me. Hope and Love follow after, capped off with a Cross and a Red Swarovski Heart - to emphasize that the greatest of these is Love - love abiding, love abounding, love everlasting.
Of course, the themes of Faith, Hope and Love are not limited to Christianity alone, so please do not feel that this bracelet is for Christians only! If you wish to be reminded of these 3 beautiful values but do not identify as Christian, the cross charm can be replaced with something else. :)
I love the contrast of the rich ruby red chinese crystals with the silver links, beads and charms. Again, if red is not your thing, a colour change may be possible! :)

This collection is a little different - it's a little bit more personal, a little bit more tailored to each individual.
So what's in a Statement Bracelet?
Do allow me to elaborate. And elaborate I will, in an overtly effusive and long-winded manner. :p
A glance through this blog will clue you in to the fact that I am extremely verbose person. I love WORDS. Words are powerful things - they can build up, appreciate and encourage; they can completely and utterly decimate and ruin; they can extol and praise and love and inspire; they can convince, and change, and empower.
So it's only natural that Words have bled into my accessory-making too! During my numerous bead/charm browsing/shopping experiences, I have been particularly attracted to beads and charms with words on them, some of which have already featured in my designs (e.g. Girl on Fire / Sweet Hearts ).
So each dainty bracelet in this range will feature "words" and aim to make a statement - be it as a reminder and encouragement to the wearer, or to show appreciation to someone. First post begins tomorrow (Friday 19 July), so stay tuned!
More importantly: CUSTOMISATION is possible! The bracelets above have all already been tailored to different individuals with their different hopes and dreams and life experiences.
