Fairy Floss Christmas | Mini Christmas Collection: Part 1

Candy floss, also known as fairy floss in some parts of the world, is a favourite of many kids and adults. Light pink and fluffy, reminiscent of the puffy clouds in the sky, every bite of sugary sweetness is perfection.

But what does fairy floss have to do with Christmas, you ask?
That's a fair question.
 Nothing much, really.

However!
Part 1 of the Mini Christmas Collection combines this sugary treat with a little sprinkling of Christmas.
Sugary pink, purple and silver tones reminiscent of fairy floss, with a snowflake charm at the centre, flanked by Love and Joy - emotions that both Christmas and Fairy Floss inspire!
This bracelet is made from strands of faux suede neatly woven in a braid - check out more items made using faux suede here! :)
Item Code & Name: 315 Fairy Floss Christmas
Price: RM16.00
Status: Available
Materials: Candy Pink, Dark Purple and Silver Suede, Love Charm, Joy Charm, Snowflake Charm
Measurements: Approximately 18.5cm (including clasp) + 2.5cm extender chain

So yeah, here's to some unconventional colours for Christmas - instead of the usual cheery red and bright green, or the frosty silver and blue, here's something pastel and sugary sweet! :)

Wishing you a wonderful sweet Christmas / Holiday season ahead.

Sunday Stylefile #7

(Let's pretend it's still Sunday)

We are nearing the end of November, so it's time for another Sunday Stylefile!

I've always tried to focus on clothing of various colours that match the featured accessory, and this time it's one of my favourite colours - midnight blue. It's such a gorgeous, rich colour - more striking than black, yet just as elegant. All the dresses featured in this particular post, I covet and covet (and have stared at for way too long). But first! Here's the midnight-blue accessory in question - Midsummer Night's Dream:
Midnight blue faux pearls, interspersed with some burgundy for a dash of colour, accompanied by moon and star charms. The dresses below all have midnight blue / navy blue as their base colour, coupled by splashes of colour in their motifs:

On ze left, what could be cuter than this adorable Cupcake-Patterned Dress from Emcee Couture.
In ze middle, look demure and utterly enchanting in this Floral Enchantment Flare Dress from Whitesoot.
On ze right, gear up for a great day out frolicking in gardens with this Flower-Patterned Dress from Hutz Fashion.

*Disclaimer* I own not the images above, they are from the sites that I have credited. I wish I owned the dresses though. :p
Click on the links to go buy them pretty dresses. :)
Since it's sale month till the end of November, I'll one-up the sale and this piece (the only available piece) can be purchased at 30% off - originally RM15, now it is retailing at RM10.50. Let's make that RM10! Woot! Check out more pictures of the bracelet here!
*Once the available piece is sold, all subsequent orders from now till the next Sunday Stylefile will retail at 10% off (i.e. RM13.50). Savvy? :D

Email me at daintylittletrinkets@gmail.com if you'd like to get this!

With that, I'll bid you adieu.
Have a good week ahead, folks.

Much love,
me!

For Karuna

Happy Saturday, my dear blog readers!

I'll keep this post short as it's a busy day ahead. :)

Here's a long overdue post about a tiny birthday gift I made for Karuna. Funny story - I had actually made this pair of earrings for her much earlier, in shades of maroon and black. Then sometime after (before her birthday), she purchased some earrings from me in the exact same shade of maroon! So I thought it would be better to change it up slightly to a shade that she doesn't have yet (at least not from her collection of earrings made by me). Heehee.
Dark silver faux pearls, clover links, jet black helix crystals and dainty butterfly links.
Item Code & Name: 314 Papillon
Price: RM8.00
Status: Available for remakes
Materials: Dark Silver Faux Pearls, Jet Black Helix Crystals, Clover Links, Butterfly Links

If you like earrings, check out more here!

Grow in Faith - Customised

Bookmarks have become quite a regularly customised item at Dainty Little Trinkets. I can see why - it's a great gift for those who don't accessorise much, and everybody reads, right? (ok, almost everybody. :p). One of my friends who probably wins the award for most number of features on this blog - Ai Li- recently customised a bookmark for herself... one to accompany her through many a book, with many cups of coffee on lazy days.

This bookmark is actually based on another bookmark, customised for Angela's turning-21 friend - The Key to Spring. Here's a slightly modified version of it.
A soft lilac pearl, a soft pink flower cabochon on an intricate flower filigree, a deep purple round-faceted chinese crystal and a cross. This bookmark is smaller than the one from The Key to Spring - lighter, nimbler (and more affordable too!)
Item Code & Name: 313 Grow in Faith
Price: RM16.00
Status: [Sold], Available for different remake (I've run out of this particular flower cabochon - it can be replaced with a pink dahlia (seen here!))
Materials: Soft Lilac Faux Pearl, Purple Round-Faceted Chinese Crystal, Pink Flower Cabochon, Flower Filigree

Email me at the address below if you'd like to customise a bookmark for yourself or for your friends!

Friendly reminder that a SALE is going on yo!

Thank you and good night! :)

Pre-Christmas Sale

Hello hello...

It's one month till Christmas, one month till the holidays, one month till we call in a new year. Who's excited for 2015? :D

BUT FIRST!
I've been doing a lot of online shopping lately (it's an uncontrollable addiction. it's a terrible affliction). There are SALES EVERYWHERE. How am I supposed to control myself?! *flails* SO ANYWAY, I've decided to pay it forward with a pre-Christmas sale of my own!

Insert shiny picture here

The graphic is so pretty. I wish I could say I made it. Sadly I have no such skills and have had to resort to piracy. :p

So yeah about this sale...
From now till the end of November 2014, all available items will be 25% off.

Some terms and conditions (please read ok! attention to detail is v. v. important in life):

1. Once available items are sold, they will revert to their original, non-discounted price. (I may not always be able to update their status on this blog immediately. So always enquire to see if someone beat you to it.)

2. You have to like the Dainty Little Trinkets facebook page to be eligible for this discount! (please let me know your FB username and in the offchance that I can't see that you've liked the page, I may ask you to provide a screenshot. :) Please don't "unlike" the page after, as that will make me sad)

3. This discount is not valid for items that are already on clearance / other discounts. The sale that has better value for the customer will take precedence! (e.g. if you check the clearance label, you will see RED text indicating the new clearance prices of the item. Obviously I cannot give you another 25% off this price lah... if I do, I would earn peanuts. (I'm already earning peanuts, heehee)).

So yes, that has been a very long and detailed (and overly cheong-hei) terms and conditions post.

Any questions? Just email me at

Start shopping now and browse the available items ~* here *~

In the meantime, I'll be doing some half-crazed online shopping of my own. :)

Lovebirds | Bold & Brassy Collection: Part 5

Hola amigos!

I am back from Penang-land after some pretty darn yummy feasting. Salted egg deep fried lotus root... how I love thee, let me count the ways. ♥__♥ Today I am tired (from all the sleeping that I did in the car, haha), so I shall keep this post short.

Today's post is the last in the Bold & Brassy collection, though it's not the last of the antique brass creations that you've seen from me. Here's Lovebirds, a choker-style necklace that is both dainty and simple, and rather adorable (at least I think so lah).
A simple antique-brass necklace featuring two little lovebirds sitting on a tree branch. Here, I have oh-so-artfully arranged the necklace to look like the little birds are perching on a swing. Aren't they adorable?

Fun fact: I am way too old to love Vampire Diaries. Fun fact 2: I adore Vampire Diaries (oh Damon, you and your smouldering blue eyes...). Fun fact 3: How cool is it that I've seen something super similar to this necklace on the neck of Caroline Forbes in one of the episodes?! Click here to see it on her pretty neck (as opposed to mine below, haha!)

Item Code & Name: 312 Lovebirds
Price: RM15.00
Status: Available
Materials: Birds on a Branch Link
Measurements: Approximately 40cm (including clasp), extender = 2.5cm

That's all for tonight, folks.

Night night.

Jade Butterflies | Bold & Brassy Collection: Part 4

This post is a scheduled post, as I am in Penang for the weekend!

Yet another one of my (many) cousins is tying the knot, and since all my extended family lives up north, up to the north we go! 一路向北, as Jay Chou would put it. Haha. Anyway, that is neither here nor there. I need to learn to be less verbose!

Here's the 4th installment of the Bold & Brassy collection - Jade Butterflies.

Antique brass butterfly links with a gradient of faux pearls in pale green, teal and moss-green. I am loving the shine on these uniquely-coloured faux pearls! I had previously bought these very butterfly links in silver, but supplies on that are running low. So here's the brass equivalent! :)

Item Code & Name: 311 Jade Butterflies
Price: RM8.00
Status: [Sold], Available for remakes
Materials: Pale Green, Teal Green and Moss Green Faux Pearls, Antique Brass-Plated Butterfly Links

That's all for now, friends.
Hope you have a great weekend ahead!

To order, please contact me at

If you like pretty colour gradients, also check out some previous ombré creations here!

Mockingjay | Bold & Brassy Collection: Part 3

Fellow citizens of PANEM...

*cough*

Wrong post-apocalyptic country.

Also, pre-apocalypse, though let's face it - it's only a matter of time before the world implodes on all of us and we'll all have to battle it out Hunger Games-style.

Wheeeee I am très excited about this post because it is an homage to one of my favourite book series, possibly second only to the awesomeness of Harry Potter. With the release of Mockingjay Part 1 just around the corner (next week, I can't hardly wait!!!), it is a timely time to be posting part 3 of the Bold & Brassy collection!

I've made some trinkets inspired by the Hunger Games series before, but this is the first time I have a charm that looks like it has come straight out of the movie series itself - the famous Mockingjay pin that Katniss wore in defiance of the Capitol, which later became one of the leading symbols of the resistance. Here's a bookmark I made with the Mockingjay charm:
An antique brass bookmark, a fiery red crystal in homage to the Girl on Fire, and a mockingjay charm. What could be better than using a Mockingjay bookmark to bookmark your favourite sections as you go through a re-read of the series in preparation for the upcoming movies, amirite? :D
Item Code & Name: 310 Mockingjay
Price: RM15.00
Status: [Sold], Available for remakes
Materials: Red Chinese Crystal Doughnut, Mockingjay Charm

If you are a fellow fan of the Hunger Games, check out other accessories inspired by the series here!

If you'd like to order, just drop me an email at

And I shall leave you with the super-awesome trailer of ze upcoming movie!

If we burn, you burn with us.

Birds Atwitter | Bold & Brassy Collection: Part 2

Second in the Bold & Brassy collection is a pair of earrings!

I've always loved using various bird-related beads and charms in my creations, which you can see some of here, here and here! :) So when I expanded my collection of beads and charms and pretty things (heehee) to include antique brass items, I of course had to buy at least one bird-related charm!

I really love this charm - it's cute, dainty and slightly whimsical - here's Birds Atwitter -

Two adorable little bird charms (looking quite like the Twitter logo), with dangling faux pearls in a gradient of sweet pink, dusty pink and dusty purple - the ombré effect lasting from the last collection to this one!
Item Code & Name: 309 Birds Atwitter
Price: RM9.00
Status: [Sold], Available for remakes
Materials: Sweet Pink, Dusty Pink and Dusty Purple Faux Pearls, Antique Brass-Plated Bird Charm

That's all for tonight - hope you like this cute and quirky creation, :)

Here's how to order stuff - *clickety-click*

G'night!

Deathly Hallows | Bold & Brassy Collection: Part 1

Sunday's almost over, but there is still time for some relaxation yet!

For me, it comes in the form of some wordy rambling on this blog, for this is a topic I am extremely excited about! Those who recognise the title of this post would be therefore familiar with all things Harry Potter, for the Deathly Hallows formed the very basis of the last book in the series.

For the uninitiated, the Deathly Hallows are 3 legendary and extremely powerful objects said to be first owned by the Peverell brothers - The Elder Wand, The Resurrection Stone, and the Invisibility Cloak. For decades and decades, wizards in search of power and invincibility have searched for these 3 hallowed items, and identified themselves by a symbol representing the 3.

Such is the popularity of Harry Potter in pop culture that mainstream markets have began to sell a charm that represents the Deathly Hallows too! It is almost an exact replica of the one that Xenophilius Lovegood himself wears in the movie - so HOW could I resist buying this charm - resistance was completely futile! So yes, my friends, the very reason I am even starting a brass collection is because I just had to buy this Deathly Hallows charm. :D

Here is part 1 of the Bold & Brassy collection -

Be like Xenophilius Lovegood - identify yourself as a fellow true blue Harry Potter Geek with this long neckace.

The elder wand, the resurrection stone, and the invisibility cloak - all represented by one symbol.

Item Code & Name: 308 Deathly Hallows
Price: RM22.00
Status: Available
Materials: Antique Brass Deathly Hallows Charm
Measurements: Approximately 76cm (including clasp), drop = 3cm

Funny story - I was recently browsing other accessory and beading sites, and this one site referred to this charm as a "vintage triangle charm". The geek in me almost keeled over and died. THE HORROR.

If you want to make this super cool necklace a part of your collection, and declare your love for this magical universe to the world, just email me at

daintylittletrinkets@gmail.com!

Check out other Harry Potter-inspired creations here! :D

And check out this snippet from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows where they talk about, well, the Deathly Hallows.

Goodnight, Potterheads!

Bold & Brassy - Collection Masterpost

Those who are familiar with Dainty Little Trinkets will know a few things:
1. The creator of this site / the creator of these trinkets is extremely verbose, and quite neurotic.
2. The posts on this blog are relatively regular because, as mentioned above, being the neurotic person that she is, she is fixated on order and sticking to "The Plan". Proof of neuroticism? Talking about oneself in third person. D:
3. This site features trinkets with crystals, pearls, and charms with antique silver fixings, with the occasional bit of lace and suede thrown into the mix

Well that, my friends, is about to change!

Well, not all of it:
1. I am probably going to be as verbose and neurotic as I've ever been. Case in point: this post.
2. The posts are still going to be regular because of the traits mentioned in point 1.
3. This! This is changing! Allow me to elaborate, or skip reading... whichever you prefer. :p

With the introduction of this Bold & Brassy collection, we are venturing into something new! I've only ever always bought antique silver charms and fixings... but recently decided to buy some stuff in antique brass, because some charms were too cute to resist and didn't come in antique silver! So yeah, this is not a complete overhaul of my predominantly silver "philosophy"... just that occasionally, there shall be some brass thrown into the mix, hence the Bold & Brassy collection!

Mind you, this site is still called Dainty Little Trinkets, so it's not like my style will change and it's not like the trinkets will suddenly be all bold and shocking and... brassy... Haha. Posts start tomorrow, which I am extremely excited about! YAY :)

Part 3: Mockingjay
Part 5: Lovebirds

Spot some familiar book references? Hehehe no prizes for guessing why I'm excited now.

See you soon, folks, and hope you enjoy the new collection!

Jonquil - Customised

Thursday!

Just a day till the weekend - hang in there! I don't know about you, but there was a torrential downpour this evening, leading to a traffic jam of epic proportions. That said, I am thankful to be home and under a roof, listening to the gentle pitter-patter of the light drizzle outside.

The title of this post - Jonquil - is a word that I have only just recently learned. Oddly enough, I learned it while on one of my first few bead-shopping binges! Swarovski crystals have a variety of gorgeous colours, some of them very whimsically named (which I can super-identify with, haha). One such hue was Jonquil, and it was a beautiful yellow colour. I have since found out that it is also the name of the small fragrant yellow flower we know more commonly as daffodils! That's some horticultural knowledge for you. (My blog is totally educational, haha!)

Here's the last necklace that I customised for Felicia, named Jonquil for the lone yellow flower appearing in a sea of white:

A yellow dahlia (let's pretend it's a daffodil) on an intricate round filigree, followed by different white beads linked to each other - a round shell bead, ivory faux pearls, a white faux pearl with gold swirls, a white opal chinese crystal doughnut, and a square filigree.
I love the random appearance of the filigrees in this necklace. They're really quite intricate and beautiful.

Item Code & Name: 306 Jonquil
Price: RM30.00
Status: [Sold], Available for Remakes
Materials: Yellow Dahlia Cabochon on a Round Filigree, Square Filigree, Ivory Faux Pearls, Round Shell Bead, White Faux Pearl with Gold Swirls, White Opal Chinese Crystal Doughnut
Measurements: Approximately 72cm (including clasp)

Alrighty!

Other yellow items can be found here!

If you like the series of necklaces that I've customised for Felicia, do check out other customised items (here!) or email me to customise something for yourself!

Tranquil Isles - Customised

Hi folks!

Today's post is the continuation of a series of necklaces that have been customised for Felicia, who likes all things asymmetrical and random. :) Today's necklace is quite unique, comprising different beads, crystals, flowers, and filigrees. The colour scheme for this necklace is blue, mint, and white, with inspiration coming from the Peaceful Waters bracelet from the Jars of Clay collection. Since this necklace was inspired by that bracelet, I have expanded on its name and named this creation Tranquil Isles.

Representing tranquility - silver filigrees, mint and off-white flower cabochons, a white shell teardrop bead, frosted blue and air blue opal chinese crystal doughnuts, shiny white faux pearls, an aquamarine glass bead, and a single aquamarine zigzag-patterned Lun Bawang.
A closeup of the eclectic mix of beads and links that comprise this opera-length necklace. There's something soothing about this colour scheme.

Item Code & Name: 305 Tranquil Isles
Price: RM38.00
Status: [Sold], Not Available
Materials: Aquamarine Zigzag Lun Bawang Bead, Air Blue Opal & Frosted Blue Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Aquamarine Glass Bead, Shiny White Faux Pearls, White Shell Teardrop Bead, Silver Filigrees, Off-White and Mint Dahlia Cabochons
Measurements: Approximately 72cm (including clasp)

I've run out of the off-white dahlias, so if you'd like a remake without the off-white dahlia, this is possible. :)

Hope you're having a tranquil evening / day / week, whenever it is that you're reading this.

I'll leave you with a song that to me epitomises tranquility - May It Be, from Enya
(with beautiful snapshots from the epic Lord of The Rings trilogy)

Nebula - Customised

Continuing in a series of posts for the necklaces that I've customised for Felicia, this one is my favourite of the lot.

Now, those who know me (or those who've read my ramblings enough to know an approximation of me) will know that I have rather simple, uniform taste. The trinkets I design are rarely out of the box - the designs are tried and true, usually symmetrical, and even if asymmetrical, usually only to a certain degree. So when a customer comes along and challenges that need for order, it is both an exciting and nerve-wracking experience. Such was my experience with Felicia, who throughout the course of customisation had to gently ask me to "be random". Hahaha!

I can certainly be random with my ramblings... not so much with my accessories! So this has been a good challenge out of my comfort zone. :)

Here is Nebula, named for the interstellar inspiration for this necklace, with the random beads and links reminding me of a galaxy of weird and wonderful constellations. What am I talking bout? I'll let the pictures do the talking!

The double-chain returns, with random links and beads of white, black and silver connected to each other like different planets and constellations in a vast galaxy.
Pictured here are some of the beads and links - a diagonal celtic square bead, white and black pearls with gold swirls connected to a square filigree, a jet black helix crystal, a white-striped round acrylic bead, and a diamond link.

Item Code & Name: 304 Nebula (Customised)
Price: RM34.00
Status: [Sold], Available for Remakes
Materials: White Shell Beads, White and Black Faux Pearls with Gold Swirls, White-Striped Round Acrylic Bead, Jet Black Helix Crystal, Square Filigree Link, Celtic Heart Bead, Chinese Knot Link, Diamond Link
Measurements: Inner Chain = Approximately 63.5cm (including clasp), Outer Chain = Approximately 72cm (including clasp)

Hope you like the randomness of this creation!
If you like double-chained trinkets, check out more here
If you like asymmetrical, random stuff, check out more here
If you like this and would like to order a remake, email me at
daintylittletrinkets@gmail.com

BTW, can't wait for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar movie. Also, this serves as a shoutout to Karen Gillan's chilling portrayal of Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Good night, and have a great week ahead, everyone.

My Fair Lady - Customised

Happy Saturday!

It's been a while since I featured any necklaces on this site, so necklaces it is today! Well, one necklace in particular, in a series of necklaces that I customised for Felicia. Felicia is a necklace person - in one shot, she purchased 7 necklaces from me, 4 of which are customised! Over the next few posts, you will get to see them in all their glory (haha).

The first is a customisation of an existing trinket of mine - the My Fair Lady bracelet that I made for myself some time ago. Felicia liked this bracelet but wanted to make a necklace instead, so I expanded on the existing beads and here is the result:

Against a silver background for clearer depiction of the white beads and crystals. An off-white dahlia on a square filigree, followed by a sequence of ivory faux pearls, frosted white chinese crystal doughnuts, white faux pearls with gold swirls, and shiny white faux pearls.
White necklaces go quite well with dark tops, as you can see in the picture below - pair it with a boatneck top and you're good to go! This necklace is longer than my standard "princess" length necklaces that end somewhere below the clavicle. This is regarded as the "matinee" length. The things you learn when you delve into accessory-making!

Item Code & Name: 303 My Fair Lady
Price: RM22.00
Status: [Sold], Not Available
Materials: Ivory, Shiny White & White (with Gold Swirls) Faux Pearls, White Opal Chinese Crystal Doughnuts, Off-White Dahlia, Square Filigree
Measurements: Approximately 54cm (including clasp), Extender = 4cm

Alas, I have run out of the off-white dahlia and it is not being restocked by my supplier. *sad*
If you like this design, I have dahlia cabochons in other colours and a selection of beads that I can try to customise to fit this design. I'm just an email away!

Enjoy your weekend now, ladies.
