Every girl needs a pair of earrings that can match every occasion and every outfit.

While I'd be waaaaaaay toooooooo arrogant to claim that this coming pair of earrings does the trick, I'd say that I personally would wear it to work, to formal dinners, on a regular day out shopping or eating at the mamak, and with pretty much any outfit. Happy Weekend, y'all!

Here's the 3rd in the matching set of bracelets for the mother-daughter quartet and 5th in the Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection - this time for the second daughter, Brooke. :)

Brooke works in the scary world of sales, and I always think that the sales profession requires a spunky personality and a sense of adventure. What better way to illustrate that than with a little sailboat charm, navigating its way around stormy seas, with nothing but heart and a little courage on its side?

Crystals and pearls in lovely shades of blue, linked together with ocean wave links to represent a stormy sea. On the chain - a lone sailboat, a little bit of heart, a little bit of courage.

It was only after I made the bracelet that I found out that Brooke also enjoys sailing - how fitting and perfect! :) I particularly love the Aquamarine Swarovski Heart and the Ocean Wave Links on this piece.

Anchor of Hope | Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection: Part 4

On Tuesday, I introduced a series of bracelets that I made for a mum and her trio of daughters, with the mum's bracelet (Inspiration) here. 

This next one is for Morgan, the eldest daughter, who is a housewife and has a family of her own. Housewives are often the ones who tie the family together, hold everything in place and keep each family member grounded. An anchor, if you will. A source of hope, definitely. So this is for all the housewives out there and a dedication to the Anchor of Hope in your life.

 An assortment of pearls and crystals in different shades of purple and black, to illustrate the diversity of each individual in the family, linked together by two round double-twisted rings. At the heart of it - an anchor to represent the mother: the housewife, a lovely Amethyst-blend Swarovski Heart and a Hope bead.

Inspiration | Personalised Statment Bracelets Collection: Part 3

The next 4 bracelets in the Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection are quite special, as they were custom-made for a mother and her three daughters - the mum is in her late 40s, the eldest daughter in her early 30s, the second in her late 20s and the youngest in her late teens. Every decade represented. How cute is that?

Each daughter has a "statement" bead/charm for their unique experiences and lives - hope, courage and inspire - while the mother's bracelet incorporates all three - as often, our mothers are our source of inspiration and all things wonderful. Contentment | Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection: Part 2

Happiness can be fleeting, but true contentment, I feel, lies with being at peace with your life and having a deep well of love and joy to draw from, especially when times are hard.

This bracelet, second in the Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection, is for Sheila, whose 8 and 5 year old daughters were given the Sweet Hearts and Candy Crush bracelets. The two little rainbow-coloured trinkets have the charms "Love" and "Joy" on them, and since these little girls are a major source of love and joy in Sheila's life, I incorporated them into her bracelet's design.

 Shades of deep purple and dark silver linked together with intricate butterfly and flower links, and the addition of Love and Joy charms for that little bit of flair.

Faith + Hope + Love | Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection: Part 1

Following from yesterday's Intro post, here we have the first customised bracelet in the Personalised Statement Bracelets collection! This bracelet has been customised for Elaine, who is a Christian by faith, and loves the colour red.

There is a verse in the Bible that goes:

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)

The following bracelet aims to reflect these words - of how essential it is to have faith, have hope, and have love as we live out all the days of our lives. 

 Faith is represented by the little sparrow - as God cares for even the little sparrow, and so much more for you and me. Hope and Love follow after, capped off with a Cross and a Red Swarovski Heart - to emphasize that the greatest of these is Love - love abiding, love abounding, love everlasting.

 Of course, the themes of Faith, Hope and Love are not limited to Christianity alone, so please do not feel that this bracelet is for Christians only! If you wish to be reminded of these 3 beautiful values but do not identify as Christian, the cross charm can be replaced with something else. :)

 I love the contrast of the rich ruby red chinese crystals with the silver links, beads and charms. Again, if red is not your thing, a colour change may be possible! :)

Personalised Statement Bracelets Collection - Masterpost

The time has come for yet another new collection!

I can't help it, I like it when things come in neat little matching themes. Heh.

This collection is a little different - it's a little bit more personal, a little bit more tailored to each individual. 

So what's in a Statement Bracelet? 

Do allow me to elaborate. And elaborate I will, in an overtly effusive and long-winded manner. :p

A glance through this blog will clue you in to the fact that I am extremely verbose person. I love WORDS. Words are powerful things - they can build up, appreciate and encourage; they can completely and utterly decimate and ruin; they can extol and praise and love and inspire; they can convince, and change, and empower.

So it's only natural that Words have bled into my accessory-making too! During my numerous bead/charm browsing/shopping experiences, I have been particularly attracted to beads and charms with words on them, some of which have already featured in my designs (e.g. Girl on Fire / Sweet Hearts ).

So each dainty bracelet in this range will feature "words" and aim to make a statement - be it as a reminder and encouragement to the wearer, or to show appreciation to someone. First post begins tomorrow (Friday 19 July), so stay tuned!

Angels on Earth - Customised

I've always thought that Nursing is one of the noblest professions - it's one that requires an endless amount of compassion, kindness, courage and heart, to support and help and comfort patients who might be going through hell in the face of their health complications. 

So much goes on in each hospital ward and it would be easy to become jaded and be affected by how transient life is, how fragile we humans are. So a big shoutout to those who have the fortitude to be nurses - you are truly Angels on Earth. ♥

The following bracelet is customised for Kristi, who is a nurse by profession. 

 I've kept this bracelet very simple - just a heart with wings as a representation of Angels on Earth, and gorgeous Czech fire-polished glass beads in shades of blue.

 The Czech fire-polished glass beads on the bracelet are called "Preciosa" beads, and how precious they are indeed. They're probably only second to Swarovski crystals in terms of luxury, but I find them equally beautiful.

Is there someone in your life who is compassionate and kind, who gives much for others and expects little in return? 

This could be a suitable and apt gift for them. :)

The weekend is almost over. *cries*

Anyway, here's another short little post about a pair of earrings I made for Siew Li, who is back from the land of the freeeeeee, and recuperating from yet another psycho-stressful year as a PhD student.

My love affair with lace continues! Have been dying to make a pair of earrings using lace, and here you have it:

 Dainty little lace flowers sandwiched between lavender round-faceted chinese crystals and antique silver-plated rose charms.

 I've named them Fleur de Lace (haha, instead of Fleur de Lis), coz I thrive on wordplay and silly puns.

 Adeline is all sugar and spice, and everything nice -- one of the sweetest girls that I know, so I thought this lovely rosaline and ivory pearl set would complement her. If it looks familiar, yes, you've guess right! I loved the design for Ivy's handphone charm so much that I wanted to replicate it in the form of something wearable. :D

The Golden Snitch

Before I begin, I need to preface this post with a huge, blinking GEEK ALERT sign. :p

I have been a huge fan of Harry Potter since time immemorial, and have absolutely loved immersing myself in that rich universe of magic, mystery and intrigue. I have loved both the books and the movies, and grieved with the characters as they lost loved ones and faced insurmountable odds, and rejoiced with them as good ultimately triumphed over evil.  You could say that the series has been one of the hallmarks of my youth.

Loving Harry Potter like I do, it gave me great joy (and much fannish delight) to make the following bracelet - a tribute, if you will, to the wonderful world of Harry Potter. I must confess that this design is all over the Internet, so it is hardly my original idea, but I hope you like it anyway!

 That elusive golden snitch, almost too fast to catch and always the deal-breaker in many a Quidditch game. 

Also, with a special appearance from Hedwig, our very favourite owl. 

Isn't this owl charm the CUTEST EVER? I saw it and absolutely had to get it. ^^

Nightingale Earrings - Addition to Previous Nightingale Set

Taking a break from new collections to post a few more things I've made - some as gifts, some customised, and some as additions to previous sets. 

Out of all of the things I've made so far, the Nightingale bracelet and necklace set seems to be one of the most popular - must be the shimmering silver tones and the ornate bird pendants and links. I'm almost tempted to make one to keep for myself! :)

So I decided to complete the set with a matching pair of earrings, as seen below!

Petite Blossoms | Rainbow Sprinkles Collection: Part 4

Alas, we've come to the last post of the Rainbow Sprinkles Collection... I'm sad to say goodbye, but excited for the new stuff coming your way! :)

This bracelet, much like the Daisy Chain bracelet, features a range of petite flowers. The difference is - while the previous bracelet had metal flowers in a bed of rainbow-coloured pearls, this bracelet's flowers come in rainbow hues, making it my absolute favourite of the lot:

 Rainbow-toned frosted acrylic flowers interspersed with shiny rainbow pearls on a rhodium-plated chain.

 If you look closely, you can see that each flower actually consists of a tiny ivory pearl encased in the frosted flower. Oh so dainty and petite - makes me wish I lived in a garden of rainbow blossoms! :3

Candy Crush | Rainbow Sprinkles Collection: Part 3

Oh, Candy Crush, everyone's latest addiction. 

Before I became completely obsessed with crafting accessories, it was my one and only time-consuming vice. Sure, it's fun, but can anything be more frustrating than having ONE remaining jelly to remove and NO MOVES left? Haha! I'm sure all Candy Crush aficionados can relate.

Anyway, this post is not about Candy Crush. Not entirely anyway.

The round and striped acrylic beads that I used for Ai Li's bracelet (here!) come in various rainbow colours too, and happened to remind my equally-obsessed-with-Candy-Crush colleague (Hi Lin! :p) of the wonderful striped candies you can sometimes get in a Candy Crush game when strategies pay off and the stars align. *heehee*

I thought it would be an adorable addition to the Rainbow Sprinkles Collection, so here we go:

Sweet Hearts | Rainbow Sprinkles Collection: Part 2

Helloooo sweethearts!

 At what point can one start calling their tiny number of blog readers "sweethearts"? ;)

After the last post's flowery affair, Part 2 of the Rainbow Sprinkles collection features hearts that look colourful and yummy enough to resemble little heart-shaped sweets - hence the name "Sweet Hearts". I delight in making puntastic puns. :D

Without further ado, here we have yet another colourful and fun concoction for the bright and young at heart. 

 A rotation of adorable rainbow-coloured acrylic hearts paired with tiny shiny rainbow faux pearls, accentuated at the end with a cutesy "love" charm.

 After some meticulous arranging and re-arranging of the little shiny rainbow pearls and rainbow hearts, this was the colour combination that I think looked the prettiest.  

 Ahhh, don't they look good enough to eat? Please don't, though. If I could hazard a guess, doing so would probably be quite hazardous to your health.

Daisy Chain | Rainbow Sprinkles Collection: Part 1

When I was a little girl, I lived for a few years in the U.K, where flowers bloom and green grass grows (during Spring and Summer, anyway). I've always wanted to make a daisy chain (which I associate with all things British), and have never gotten the chance till now!

Obviously I've taken a lot of artistic liberties in interpreting the flowers below as "daisies", and obviously traditional daisies have white petals and a yellow centre, but this bracelet comes in all colours of the RAINBOW, because - artistic liberty, yo. :p

Rainbow Sprinkles Collection - Masterpost

Happy July, people! :)

Coming soon (to a theatre near you, haha) -

After the dark and sombre tones of the Fly Me To The Moon collection, I thought it best to spice things up a little with a dash of colour - a Sprinkle of Rainbows, if you will.

I'm more fond of monochromatic tones myself, but now and then, I do appreciate colourful things - rainbow cakes, for example, are a work of art (and extremely delicious). And who doesn't like to spot that elusive arch in the sky (arc en ciel, as the French say), a miracle of nature after the rain, symbolic of new beginnings and silver linings - the best is yet to come.

Over the next week, I'll be posting some bright and cheery trinkets, all of them in happy rainbow tones. :)
