For Ai Li

Today is Ai Li's birthday, and so this post is dedicated to her. :D
(Hmm, since I haven't actually told anyone about this blog, I wonder if anyone would chance upon it. Probably not. Not yet anyway. What's the use of a blog if you don't ask people to read it?)

My dear friend and colleague is turning the ripe old age of 25 today. Still so young! One of the coolest things about Ai Li is that she sails. As in the whole competes in sailing competitions, used to represent the freaking country, has been on a sailboat for days, kinda sailing. The cool kinda professional sailing we mere mortals can only gawk at from afar. So for her birthday, I made her a sailor-themed bracelet!
I love them red and blue-striped beads. Alas I only have 3 of each bead, so can't remake this pretty thing.
Love the starfish link, and sailor-inspired charms (sailboat, steer, anchor). Then I felt the bracelet was a little empty, so added the moon and stars. Because sailors used to navigate the seven seas by looking at the sky, right? Something like that lah. :p

Status: Not Available
Materials: Blue and Red Striped Acrylic Beads, Starfish Link, Sailboat, Steer, Anchor, Moon and Star Charms

I'll end this post with a tribute song to Ai Li - an ode to drunken sailors!

What can you do with a drunken sailor, early in the morning?

  1. Hi...these bracelet is very cute. I love it. Can i order one similar to that. Although i am not a sailor but i have worked in a sailing club for 10 years & now i miss the environment. I hope that i can buy these bracelet. Thank you.

    1. Hi there! Thank you so much for liking this :) Unfortunately, I do not have stock for the red and blue striped beads - I will be checking with suppliers if the beads are available in mid-July, if you don't mind waiting? But cannot guarantee that the suppliers will have stock.

Alternatively, would you be open to discussing the use of different beads (e.g. blue/green crystals or pearls)? I still have stock for the starfish and various charms. Please email me at to discuss this further, if interested. Thanks!
