If the sultry tones of Alicia Keys singing "this girl is on fiyaaaaah" immediately springs to mind, I apologise. :p No, this is not a homage to Alicia Keys, though the character this bracelet is inspired by is definitely a girl on fire, and worthy of 10000 female empowerment songs or more.
What follows is a tribute (ahaha play on words, I amuse myself again) to Katniss Everdeen, the Girl on Fire, the courageous female heroine in the Hunger Games trilogy, who was given so little and had to sacrifice so much.
Jet black round faceted crystals to symbolise the coal-mining District 12 and fiery red faux pearls to symbolise the fire lit within, interspersed with a mockingjay - the symbol of the resistance movement, a trusty arrow - the means for Katniss's survival, and above all - courage in the face of unimaginable adversity.
